We’re looking for an experienced Care Director to provide clinical leadership within a residential aged care environment based near Wollongong, NSW. This is a key leadership position, working closely with the Residential Aged Care Manager to oversee clinical care, governance, quality, compliance and continuous improvement.
About the Role
You’ll provide senior clinical leadership across the home, supporting nursing and care teams to deliver safe, high-quality, person-centred care.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing clinical leadership, supervision and mentoring to nursing and care teams
- Overseeing clinical governance, quality and continuous improvement initiatives
- Supporting accreditation and compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory standards
- Monitoring clinical audits, indicators and care outcomes
- Overseeing resident care planning, assessments and clinical documentation
- Supporting funding optimisation and accurate clinical submissions
- Providing guidance around medication management, infection prevention and clinical best practice
- Supporting the management of incidents, hospital transfers, emergencies and outbreaks
- Working closely with residents, families, medical practitioners and allied health professionals
- Supporting recruitment, rostering, performance management and staff development
- Ensuring new team members receive appropriate induction, training and ongoing support
- Acting as the senior clinical leader within the home when required
You’ll be a confident and experienced clinical leader who enjoys developing teams and improving standards of care.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- Current AHPRA Registered Nurse registration
- At least 3 years' nursing management experience at ward level or above
- Previous experience within residential aged care
- Strong understanding of contemporary aged care clinical standards, funding and accreditation
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong clinical judgement, analytical and critical-thinking skills
- Experience with care planning and case management
