We're partnering with a well-established specialist private day hospital in Canberra that is continuing to grow and is looking for an experienced Perioperative Nurse to join the team on a 0.6–0.8 FTE permanent basis (approximately 32 hours per week).
This is an excellent opportunity for a Scrub Scout who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and is interested in developing skills within ophthalmology. Previous ophthalmic theatre experience is highly regarded but not essential —a structured training program is available for the right candidate.
What's on offer?
- Permanent Part-Time (0.6–0.8 FTE)
- Monday-Friday roster – no weekends or on-call
- Shifts between 7:00am – 6:00pm
- Regular Fridays off with a compressed working week
- Structured Ophthalmology training program
- Opportunity to gain exposure across admissions, anaesthetics support and recovery in a specialist setting
- Stable, growing organisation with ongoing investment in staff development
Working alongside highly regarded surgeons and an experienced perioperative team, you'll primarily work within the scrub/scout role while also having the opportunity to contribute across the patient journey in this specialist day hospital.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in delivering exceptional patient care and thrives in a collaborative team environment.
About you
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Previous Scrub Scout experience in a hospital or day surgery
- Ophthalmology theatre experience is highly desirable but not required
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
