MAYDAY Healthcare is proud to be partnering with a leading, multi-subspecialty ophthalmology clinic in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs.

This modern, high-performing practice is home to 8 highly respected ophthalmologists, supported by a collaborative team delivering exceptional care across the full spectrum of eye health.

From cornea to cataract, glaucoma to refractive surgery, paediatrics to neuro-ophthalmology — this is one of the rare clinics where you’ll genuinely see it all.

We’re currently looking for an experienced Senior Orthoptist who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is confident taking the lead across a busy, dynamic clinic.

What’s on offer:
  • Salary up to $100K + super
  • Exposure across all ophthalmology subspecialties
  • Ongoing development and learning opportunities
  • Supportive, forward-thinking team culture
  • Eastern Suburbs location with great public transport access + onsite parking
  • Clinic hours between 7:30am – 5:30pm (rostered)

The role:
You’ll play a key role in both the clinical and day-to-day running of the practice, including:
  • Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and consultations
  • Operating advanced diagnostic equipment (IOL Master 700, Zeiss OCT, Humphrey Visual Field, Pentacam, iTrace desirable)
  • Assisting with minor procedures (retinal injections, chalazion and lid lesion removals)
  • Supporting subspecialty clinics including refractive and dry eye services
  • Performing IOL calculations, preparing surgical lists, and managing pre/post-op care
  • Triaging patients, supporting audits, and contributing to research activities
  • Overseeing clinic flow — managing wait times, coordinating staff, and troubleshooting issues
  • Proactively supporting both clinical and admin tasks during quieter periods

Why this clinic stands out?
This isn’t your average ophthalmology setting — it’s a high-volume, full-scope clinic offering exposure to:
  • Cornea
  • Cataract
  • Glaucoma
  • Oculoplastics
  • Refractive Surgery
  • Medical Retina
  • Paediatrics
  • Neuro-Ophthalmology
  • General Ophthalmology

About you:
  • Qualified Orthoptist with current Australian registration
  • Strong experience within a multidisciplinary ophthalmic setting
  • Confident across a range of diagnostic equipment
  • Organised, proactive, and able to think on your feet
  • Comfortable leading clinic flow and supporting a busy team
  • Experience with Genie or similar EMR systems (desirable)
  • Current Working With Children Check + National Police Check

If you’re looking to step into a role where you’ll be challenged, supported, and exposed to the full scope of ophthalmology — this is a great opportunity to take that next step.
